WCC was instrumental in helping me with case preparation, interview skills, and finding a community people at UW-Madison pursuing the same career as me. During an unprecedented time of a global pandemic, I was able to continue my hunt for a consulting internship and full-time job through WCC connections and networking skills I learned. The recruiting process for any job, especially consulting, can seem really daunting if you don't have friends or colleagues going through it with you; I am fortunate to have been part of WCC & get their support during college.

WCC played an integral role in helping me navigate the recruiting process for consulting and in landing the role I wanted to be in post-graduation. Whether it be the member and alumni network, the expansive case resources the club has or the leadership opportunities it afforded me, joining WCC was one of the best decisions I made while at UW-Madison.

One of the best things WCC provides is friends that can help you prepare for interviews and keep you in the loop about interview timelines. During the Fall recruiting cycle, I would case with my peers and the executive board about 5 times a week, which helped me so much in terms of dialing in my casing skills for interviews. Also, for technology consulting interviews, there's not necessarily a casebook to practice from, so to be able to practice my responses about applying modern technology and discussing topics such as the product lifecycle was super helpful.

WCC was the sole resource I utilized to navigate consulting recruiting. Throughout my time in WCC, the accumulated knowledge of club members and the engagement of the alumni base were invaluable to me. The driven community of members taught me to be a better advocate for myself and challenged me to improve my analytical skills, both of which were big factors in helping me land the job I wanted out of school.

In the absence of administrative support or an academic track geared toward consulting careers, the WCC was the sole UW organization that supported my pursuit of a consulting career. The WCC provided a community of peers with like-minded career goals and served as a catalyst to practice and prepare for consulting interviews. In comparison to other schools with extensive funding for consulting career preparation, the WCC was a testament to the tenacity of UW students and their support of each other’s career goals.
